Mpheni Home Defenders coach Vhutshilo Phuravhathu is optimistic that his team will finish the league unbeaten this season.
The Defenders remain undefeated after 15 matches, recording 11 wins and four draws, with six matches remaining. The team has previously qualified for the national ABC Motsepe League playoffs on three occasions but returned home empty-handed. Last year, they topped Stream A but were defeated in the provincial playoffs by The Dolphins, champions of Stream B.
Phuravhathu said he has assembled a strong squad this season, made up of experienced players capable of competing against any team.
“We are determined to win the provincial playoffs and represent the province at national level,” he said, calling on supporters to rally behind the team and promising improved results this time around.
“This season, we will not disappoint. When we reach the national playoffs, our goal is to secure promotion to the higher league,” he added.
With six matches remaining, Phuravhathu said the team needs only five more points to be crowned league champions.
