The unstoppable Mpheni Defenders continued where they left off two weeks ago in the SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League, hammering second-placed Tzaneen United 7–1 at Mpheni Grounds on Saturday.
Defenders remain unbeaten after 18 matches, having won 13 and drawn five, for a total of 44 points, with only four matches remaining in the league programme. They now need just a few more points to secure the Stream A title. Second-placed Tzaneen United are currently 11 points behind.
In other weekend matches, Mukondeni Young Chiefs failed to capitalise on their home-ground advantage, losing 2–1 to The Dolphins.
It was sweet revenge for Vondwe XI Bullets, who bounced back from last week’s defeat to secure a 1–0 victory over the struggling Lebash Academy.
Musina United played to a 2–2 draw with their formidable opponents, Selwane White Vultures.
Tshakhuma Tshamadzivhandila FC, second from bottom in the standings, returned home empty-handed after losing 3–1 to Nkowankowa Continentals.
Meanwhile, Badzah Celtic held Phalaborwa United to a goalless draw.
