The undisputed rhumba music king, Marko Clement Simbine, better known as Mu Africa Marko, and his family band, The More Fire Big Machine Band, never tire of delivering good music to the people.
In 2024, they released their hit album Mudzimu (Bvumo) Vol 10. The album was received well by fans and helped elevate their stature within the rhumba music scene.
On 21 March this year, Mu Africa Marko, who is also a renowned traditional healer with roots in Mozambique, released a brand-new album titled Takalani Vol 11. The album was recorded at Mmbangiseni Mphagani Studio in Muledane. The songs were composed by Mu Africa himself and produced by Noleen Simbine. Some standout tracks with rich lyrics include Tanganedzani, Tk, and Mwali.
As usual, he worked with his family band, which consists of Willard Simbine and Dicson Siwela on lead guitar, Raymond and Emmanuel Simbine on rhythm guitar, and Joshua Simbine and Getway Madyira on drums. The president himself, Mu Africa Marko, played bass guitar.
"I have not deviated from the music that made me popular. Besides being very entertaining, the songs carry strong messages that could help the listeners. The song Tanganedzani is one outstanding track that advises people to be satisfied with what God has given them, no matter how small it might seem. There are people swimming in a pool of poverty with nothing at all. Greed is driving people to extremes, with some even stealing and killing others to acquire the riches of this world. Accept what you have, as this is what God feels is sufficient to sustain you," he said.
The album will officially be launched at Mavunda Bottle Store in Giyani on 29 March.
