Ritshidze Mualusi, the talented Makhado FM presenter of the Tsivhudzo show, is really riding the local airwaves. The show airs weekdays from 09:00 to 12:00.
Born and raised in Matanda, Mualusi matriculated at Dzata High School. "I used to take part in debates at school, and books were my favourite possessions," she said. She later graduated with a bachelor of environmental science degree from the University of Venda.
After several unsuccessful applications to various radio stations, she found an opportunity at community radio station Nzhelele FM. In August this year, she was offered a position at Makhado FM, which she embraced wholeheartedly. "I was so happy. I promised myself I would make them proud of me. I had to excel and prove they hadn't made a mistake by hiring me," she said.
Judging by the listeners' response, Makhado FM made the right choice. "I always ensure I do my homework by researching my topics thoroughly to excel in my duties. Radio work is both interesting and challenging, especially when interacting with listeners," Mualusi said.
Her bubbly personality, sense of humour, and intelligence have earned her a loyal audience. She attributes the success of her show to the collective efforts of her team. "What I love about my show is that it requires energy and flexibility," she added.
Speaking to Limpopo Mirror, Mualusi expressed her determination to tackle unfair practices in various spheres of society. "I use my show to find solutions to social ills," she said.
