Local boxer Jansen Mudzanani is hoping for victory in his light-flyweight bout scheduled over 10 rounds. He will be fighting against Rofhiwa Maphupha at the Meropa Casino on Friday, 23 June. The fight is scheduled to start at 19:00 and is organised by Limpopo Champion Boxing Promotions.

This will be the fourth time the two boxers face each other in the ring. In their previous clashes, Maphupha won twice and lost once.

Mudzanani expressed confidence in beating his opponent, possibly by TKO. On the other hand, Maphupha stated that his opponent would be in for a surprise if he underestimated him. He saw the fight as a stepping stone towards a national title fight that would take place soon. "I am ready. I am physically and emotionally fit, and with the support and training, there is no way my opponent can defeat me," Maphupha said.a

The fight's promoter, Mr Phathutshedzo Dongola, appealed to all sports enthusiasts to come out in large numbers to support the local fighters. He promised that the fights would provide maximum entertainment. "Limpopo has an abundance of boxing talent. We must nurture and promote them to achieve greater heights and galvanise the future of boxing. In Limpopo, we have very few champions, so let's support them and raise the flag high," Dongola said.
