Speaker after speaker reiterated the fact that the Munyangane family has not only been robbed of an accountant-to-be, but a righteous person in Mufunwa Matamela Munyangane. Mufunwa's funeral service was held at the Makwarela Apostolic Faith Mission Church last Saturday.
At the age of 23, Mufunwa Munyangane met his untimely death on Sunday, June 14, in Cape Town. According to the information available, Mufunwa was in a critical condition when he was found lying in the street. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he passed away moments after he was admitted.
Born on 18 June 1986 at Tshivhulani village East of Sibasa, Mufunwa was the eldest son of Mr Shadrack and Mrs Dorcus Munyangane. He started his formal schooling at Bergvlam Primary School, where he passed Grade 7.
He then proceeded to Meridian College where he stayed for two years before coming back to Tshikevha Christian School, where he completed his Grade 12 in 2004. In 2005, Mufunwa enrolled for a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Stellenbosch.
During the ceremony, a church representative, Mr TE Tshivhase, described Mufunwa as no ordinary churchgoer, but as a true Christian. Mufunwa's younger brother, Mufhati, who could not hold his tears back while on the stage, said that death had robbed them of a loving brother. He is survived by three brothers, Mufhati, Takalani and Vhonani, and a sister, Tshilidzi.
