Mukondeni Royal rejoice after lifting the Muungamunwe trophy

Mukondeni Royal lifted the Muungamunwe Soccer Tournament trophy, defeating Saudi FC 2-0 in the final and securing their second title in three months.

Mukondeni Royal are still celebrating after being crowned champions of the Muungamunwe Soccer Tournament at the Muungamunwe Power Seven Grounds on Tuesday.

Royal beat Saudi FC 2-0 in the final to lift the trophy. Shortly after the match, the team received R20,000 in prize money, a floating trophy, two sets of soccer kit and gold medals. Mukondeni Royal reached the final after edging Ramantsha Blackpool 1-0 in their semi-final.

The Muungamunwe title is Mukondeni Royal's second in the space of three months, after the team won the Cllr Enock Sithi Soccer Tournament at Mukondeni Grounds on Monday, 6 April.

Saudi FC received R3,000, silver medals and two sets of soccer kit. The team booked its place in the final with a 1-0 victory over Shayandima Dynamos.

Tshianda Black Roosters were crowned champions in the category for teams competing under the Makhado Local Football Association. Black Roosters beat Khumbe Black Panthers 3-0 in the final. They received R3,500, a floating trophy and two sets of soccer kit, while Khumbe Black Panthers took home two sets of soccer kit.

Khwekhwe Grannies were crowned champions in the women's category after beating Tsiamutsha Ladies in the final. The teams played to a goalless draw in regulation time before Khwekhwe Grannies won the penalty shootout 3-0. Both Khwekhwe Grannies and Tsiamutsha Ladies received a set of soccer kit.
