The much-awaited Vhembe derby between Munaca FC and Mikhado FC will take place at the Rabali stadium on Saturday. Both sides would want to collect maximum points, but Munaca may be hungrier, seeing that they have to restore their lost pride.
Munaca were still to win a league match before their league match against The Dolphins FC on Wednesday, which was played at the same venue. On the other hand, Mikhado must collect the full points at stake to keep their title hopes alive. Ikwasha Fhedzi, as they are also known, were still to lose a league match before their match against Venda Football Academy (VFA) on Wednesday.
Munaca's centre back, Thulani Mabizela, will be playing against his former teammates. Mabizela played for Mikhado for two seasons before migrating to Munaca at the beginning of the current season.
Mikhado's strikers will have to double their effort to break the defence of Munaca, which is marshalled by Thulani Mabizela, Mojagobedi Kafane and Final Mabasa. Munaca's keeper, Bongani Manavhela, is one of the best goalies in the league.
Tshakhuma RO Nandilani FC will travel all the way to Polokwane. Their match against The Dolphins FC will be played at the Ben Serake Stadium outside Polokwane. Giyani Happy Boys will enjoy the home-ground advantage in their match against Ablex United at the Giyani Stadium. VFA will host Makotopong Brazilians at the Tshifudi Stadium.
The Polokwane derby between Mighty FC and Polokwane Soccer Academy will be staged at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. Terrors FC will host Denilton Callies at the Ephraim Mohale Stadium in Modimolle. The other ABC Motsepe League weekend fixtures are: Ngoabe City Motors vs Ditlou FC and Magezi FC vs Barracah Valley FC.
