The head coach of Munaca FC, Mr Solly Luvhengo, is the latest victim of dismissal. Luvhengo's relationship with the club ended abruptly last Friday. His dismissal follows a string of poor results by the team over the past weeks.
Luvhengo said that he was told about his dismissal shortly after their league game against Musina United, which was played at the Musina Old Mine Stadium on Sunday. The game ended in a goalless draw.
Luvhengo said that the dismissal came as a huge surprise to him. He said that his team was still in the race for the league championship as they are currently lying in the third position on the log standings with 12 points, nine behind the pace setters, Mpheni Home Defenders. He reckoned that his dismissal was premature as anything was still possible in their seven remaining matches. He said, however, that he had accepted the dismissal in good spirit.
Asked about his next stop, Luvhengo said that speaking about his next move was premature as he was still battling to come to terms with his dismissal. Although he did not want to comment about that, Limpopo Mirror has been reliably informed that Luvhengo is one of the three candidates who have been shortlisted for the coaching job in one of the Premier League clubs in Eswatini, Mbabane Highlanders FC.
The chief executive officer of Munaca FC, Mr Michael Muzila, has confirmed that the club has parted ways with Luvhengo in an amicable way. Asked whether they were intending to promote the current assistant coach, Mr Moses Muthelo, to the position of head coach, Mr Muzila said that the management was still going to decide on the matter. Muthelo was appointed to the position three weeks ago, following the resignation of Mr Mashudu "Coolio" Ndou.
