The case against Avhapfani Eric Mundalamo, who was arrested for the brutal killing of his estranged wife, Funanani Patience Mbedzi Mundalamo, on 30 March this year, has been postponed to 30 September. Mundalamo appeared in the Thohoyandou Magistrate's Court on Monday.
His wife, a popular choir leader, was tragically killed while leading a choir performance in church. It is alleged that Mundalamo went to the church and shot his wife twice in the chest.
The 42-year-old Ms Funanani Mbedzi Mundalamo was a well-known figure in the Khubvi area, where she owned a business called Funi's Hair Salon.
Unlike previous court appearances, this time saw only a few gender-based-violence activists present.
