A love and passion for modelling have finally paid off for Munei Tsanwani, a model from Nzhelele Biaba, when she won the title of Miss Phalaphala FM Royal Heritage Festival held at 2Ten Hotel in Sibasa a fortnight ago.

Speaking to Limpopo Mirror, the 21-year-old Tsanwani said that she felt grateful about her achievement. "I feel very happy about winning this pageant. I am very humbled and grateful to my friends and family for the love and support I received throughout this journey," Tsanwani said.

Tsanwani, a biochemistry and zoology student at Univen, has now set her eyes firmly on participating in the Miss South Africa contest. She said that she had entered the pageant because she wanted to challenge herself. "I'm always up for any challenge in my life. Although this was my first pageant, I had to work very hard to make sure that I walk away with the first prize. The competition was tough, but nothing is impossible in this world," she said. "Although I started modelling this year, it has always been a dream for me to be a model. I was just not confident enough to do it, but now I've found courage to participate in pageants."

Tondani Ethel Maimela was the first princess and Tshifhiwa Ramutumbu the second princess.

The event organizer, Pandelani Miss P Mulaudzi, said that the pageant was all about expressing being an African and reminding young models of the importance of culture and heritage.
