Apostola gospel artist Pastor Munzhedzi, together with the Tshamutilikwa UAAC Choir, has released a new single, Tshifhambano Medley, to mark the Easter season. The song was released on Good Friday, 3 April, and reflects on the suffering of Christ on the cross.
Munzhedzi has been in the music industry for many years and is well known in Apostola gospel music. He has released 11 albums, along with two singles and four music video albums, which are available on digital platforms.
He has performed at a number of major events, including the Phalaphala FM Royal Garden Heritage Gospel Festival, Phalaphala FM Prayer Day and the station’s birthday celebrations.
Munzhedzi has also received several nominations and awards at the Tshivenda Music Awards (TSHIMA), and has taken part in various United African Apostolic Church (UAAC) music competitions.
Speaking about the new release, Munzhedzi said the single is only the beginning of what is to come.
“We are known for full albums, and this single is just a taste of what is coming. Our fans should not despair, greater things are on the way,” he said.
The song has already received airplay on local radio stations, including Phalaphala FM, and is gaining popularity among listeners. Munzhedzi said a new album is in the pipeline, which will include collaborations with artists such as Vhutshilo “Tseremuka” Mugwedi, Susan Masiagwala and Munzhe.
