The Makhado Municipality thanked all guests and fun lovers from the municipal area, Limpopo at large and beyond for attending a fun-filled edition of the Makhado Annual Show. The show took place at the show grounds in Louis Trichardt last week.
The spokesperson for the Makhado Municipality, Mr Louis Bobodi, indicated that the municipality had endeavoured to make this year's show a masterpiece. "We had tried to improve where we had been previously found wanting," he said. "We had beefed-up security for the safety of our visitors."
The children were treated to fun activities by the crew from Takalani Sesame, which was sponsored by Sanlam and SABC2. The playing fields and other activities, such as the merry-go-round, the food stalls and information service stalls were open and available for the duration of the show.
The main crowd-pulling event in the show was the music show, which took place on Saturday. It boosted a line-up of singers, musicians and DJs with, among others, Colbert Mukwevho, Vetkuk vs Mahhota, Kumar, Tirhani Mabaso, Eli Macfam, Fizzy, Mizzo Phyll, Prifix, Rabs Vhafuwi, Percy Mukwevho, CornerStone, Muofhe, Comet D Sfings, Jacques Mouton, Lufuno Dagada, Shakes Mbedzi, Khensani & Band, DJ Lady Bonga, DJ Majozi, DJ Banice the Piano, DJ Sfudi, AB Crazy, and DJ Kilm.
There had been transport problems in the previous years, where show attendees would roam the town after the show had closed in the middle of the night. However, the municipality had addressed this issue this time around. "We had arranged with the public transport owners to provide services even after hours for the safety of those who didn't have their own vehicles," Bobodi said. "We are looking forward to having another prosperous show, come 2017."
