Talented musician Mashudu Ravuluvulu, popularly known as Ravusto, has experienced both the highs and lows of life, which have influenced his music career and personal journey.
The popular musician, born in Fondwe, Nzhelele, and later relocating to Makwarani, has come a long way. He emerged from humble beginnings when he released his first album, No Woman No Cry, in 2015. His second album, Vhutudzi, followed in 2017, and the third, Murunwa, was released in 2022. His fourth and most recent full album, Ro Hangwa Zwashu (Sialala), was released in 2023.
The albums were well received and garnered a lot of attention from fans. They also received massive airplay on various radio stations.
It came as no surprise when, this year, he bounced back with the release of a sizzling new album, Ndi Bva Kule. The album, featuring the tracks Ndi Bva Kule, Oshanduka, and Mutakalo, was released on 19 January. This release followed another successful single, Back to My God, which came out in 2024.
In his latest releases, he collaborated with the likes of T Mrepa, Glaso, and his sister, Chifhie Muimbi. It was recorded at his own studio, Rvt Records, and produced by Ravusto himself. The track Ndi Bva Kule, which reflects his journey in the music industry and life in general, is making waves, and Ravusto anticipates that it will elevate him to the higher league where he belongs.
"Life has not been a bed of roses for me. In the song Ndi Bva Kule, I am sharing my life story to show that the celebrated Ravusto had humble beginnings, full of challenges. It hasn't been easy. I was ridiculed and demoralised by people who tried to wreck my career. I fell down but got up, dusted myself off, and today I am well known and celebrated. My name and my music are everywhere. I am reaping the fruits of my toil. There is a lesson here: Do not give up when things are tough. Stay focused on making your dreams a reality, and one day it will all make sense," he said.
He also promised a full album in the genres of Venrap, Bolo House, or likompo.
