The Khadambi family and the Musina community woke up on Sunday, 3 November, to the sad news of the passing of Lufuno Marshal Khadambi (25). He died in the early morning hours at Musina Hospital.
According to Wilson Phiri, the family spokesperson, Khadambi passed away after a short illness. "As a family, we never thought it would end up this way," said Phiri.
Born in 1999, Khadambi dedicated his life not only to serving his family but also to improving the lives of Musina residents. He was an active member of organisations such as the South African National Civic Organisation and Musina To The Front.
Throughout his life, Khadambi devoted his time to advocating for a reliable water and electricity supply and fought for Musina's unemployed youth to be recognised whenever job opportunities arose.
In 2022, Khadambi was among the youth leaders who organised a march of unemployed youths to hand over a memorandum of demands to Venetia and Vele mines, calling for the hiring of Musina youths.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 7 November, followed by his burial on Saturday, 9 November.
