A few weeks ago, Limpopo Mirror did a story on Khuliso Muvhango from Muvex ICT, who came up with a clever solution to address the interference in learners' education by the Covid pandemic.
The young IT guru from Tshavhalovhedzi Sendedza in Nzhelele invented a 'digital classroom' to help learners attend class wherever they are, also making education "fashionable" for learners.
The concept proved to capture many people's attention as he reached schools far and wide with his invention. And then, in the midst of his celebration, his office, based in Louis Trichardt, was burgled and laptops and tablets that they use during roadshows were stolen.
The poor man said he had still been crying over his loss when he had received the news that he had been nominated for the Founder of the Year Awards (FOTYA), in the category for Entrepreneur of the Year for Under 30.
"Being nominated for a continental award is no small achievement," Muvhango said. "This is a big thing indeed, and I am so humbled. When we came up with the project, it was just to assist learners during these difficult times, and now many around the world are seeing it as a useful tool and invention. A mere nomination is enough; winning the competition will be a bonus.
"I do not even know how to thank Limpopo Mirror, because we wouldn't have reached people this far, had it not been for the exposure you gave us."
He asks that people support him by voting for him, so that he can bring the award back home. To vote for Muvhango, follow the link: https://www.foya.thefounder.africa/vote/N20ZV2F0.
