"So many shocking and foreign tendencies have become a way of life in this country, where the rule of law has disappeared," said gospel music legend Ms Langanani Mavis Dimbanyika.
The 55-year-old musician, better known as Langanani Dimbanyika, hails from Maunavhathu Mvelaphanda outside Vuwani. She has made a big comeback with the release of her second album, Muvhuso, which she describes as one of her best projects to date. It follows on the heels of her popular debut album, Mbilu yo Tambaho, which was released in 2020.
Described as a ZCC-style gospel album, Muvhuso was recorded at the Easy Road to Fame Studio in Tshifulanani. The studio is owned by legendary musician Nelton Dama, who also produced and recorded the album. It was officially launched in December 2024.
"Muvhuso was inspired by the day-to-day happenings in our country. So many strange things are happening in this beautiful land of ours. When you wake up, chances are you will hear of heinous crimes committed by citizens who do not respect the rule of law. People, especially women and children, are being killed left and right. The country is overwhelmed by illegal foreigners who pass through our borders at will," she said.
Dimbanyika said the country resembled a circus as people no longer respected the government of the day. "There is no longer respect for the rule of law. The Bible says we should respect the rules set by the government, and there will be peace in this land," she added.
Dimbanyika's music career started at an early age, and she honed her craft while singing in a church choir. Her talent was discovered by ace producer and studio owner Nelton Dama, who has worked with her since her first album.
