Riding high on the success of his house/piano remix hit Rivhana Vhavho, legendary Zionist gospel musician Naphy Manenzhe — better known as Naphy M — is back in the spotlight.
The Tshitavha Vhulaudzi-born artist from the Nzhelele area, known for his unique music and stage presence, often wearing his distinctive Gusheshe (church regalia), is among the selected gospel performers for the Phalaphala FM Royal Gospel Family Day.
For the first time, the festival will take place outdoors at Nandoni Royal Gardens on 6 September.
The lineup features some of the country's gospel greats, including Rebecca Malope, Rofhiwa Manyaga, Ps Donation, Takie Ndou and Newie.
Known for his soulful and energetic gospel hits, Naphy M said he had upped his game by adding piano and house tunes to his playlist. "This is an event music lovers will not want to miss. The impressive lineup tempts one to put everything aside for good music and good vibes. This is the place to be, and I will keep you on your feet throughout my performance," he said.
Naphy added that the open-air venue and daytime schedule would be an advantage for both fans and artists. "Playing before a huge, cheering crowd is a motivation on its own. I assure all my fans they will witness something they have never seen before. The Gusheshe will be flying full mast," he said.
He thanked his fans for their ongoing support and urged them to come in numbers to experience his performance.
