Zamenkomste Liverpool strengthened their position on the MMK Admistrators League log when they beat struggling Gogobole Bucs 1-0 at Gogobole on Sunday.
Bucs had nobody else but themselves to blame for the defeat. They squandered countless scoring opportunities. Their striker, Tondani Madabeni, could not live up to the fans' expectations as a scoring machine as he was tightly marked. Realizing that life was difficult for him as a striker, Madabeni moved him back and he played as a midfielder.
Bucs' keeper, Khongelani Baloyi, made his presence felt in the 25th minute. He palmed away a strong volley from Khakhu Tshilinga from close range.
Mulalo Lethole of Bucs was booked for a late tackle on Raymond Sinugo three minutes before half-time.
The second half saw Bucs committing more blunders. Their right winger, Takalani Ndadza, unleashed aimlessly from inside the box in the 50th minute and wasted a good opportunity to score. The assistant referee, Mr David Nyalungu, and not the referee, surprised everybody when he raised his flag and pointed to the white spot, because the ball was outside the penalty area.
Musandiwa "Zuma" Makhudzha scored the all-important goal in the 87th minute from the spot.
