The Seven Villages Athletics Club in Mutale will do its utmost to keep the young people of the area busy in a constructive way, so that they will not be lured into unlawful activities such as crime and substance abuse.

According to Mr Thivhulawi Mbevhana, secretary of the club, the athletics club is the brainchild of the Seven Villages Development Forum. The forum focuses on the developing of villages such as Ngalavhani, Mabila, Helula, and Mufulwi through education, sports, arts and culture.

It has already organized a campaign against human trafficking, aimed at educating young people to be vigilant against gangs who want to abduct them.

Mbevhana said that they gathered on Saturday at the Mufulwi sports ground after they realised that if the young people were participating in sports, they would not get involved in crime. "We will invite the young people to gather every Saturday to practise several sporting codes, such as athletics, soccer and netball.

He said the club was also preparing for a fun walk from Savhani River in Ngalavhani to the Matavhela Secondary School on 16 December.
