TSIANDA – Members of the community and several traditional leaders of the Vhembe District witnessed the installation of the new Chief of Tsianda Village, Chief Mafharalala Wilfred Netsianda, at the Tsianda Territorial Council on Friday. Mavhungu Alpheus Netsianda was installed as the senior Chief's aid and Thinavhuyo Mavis Netsianda as the female aid to the Chief.

Thovhele Toni Mphephu Ramabulana headed the installation of the new Chief. Ramabulana encouraged the new Chief to carry out his duties as the leader of his clan. He also told him to refrain from bad habits, stressing that political parties should respect their Chiefs, since they are the leaders of their communities. He said that they should not undermine the position of traditional leaders in order to bring instability, and that misunderstanding and conflicts should be avoided at all cost.

The MEC in the Premier's Office, Ms Cathrine Mabuza, also encouraged the new Chief to work hard, but she warned him against the danger of abusing his power. "If you get out hand, you may be dethroned by the same people who installed you to your position," the MEC said.
