Two new chiefs were installed during a ceremony at Matsila village last Saturday.
The event was attended by hundreds of community members and traditional leaders clad in traditional attire. Thovhele Vho-Nthumeni Masia announced that Vhamusanda Vho-Livhuwani Matsila will be responsible for Matsila-Tshisimani, and his new name will be Vha-Musanda Vho-Nkhiphitheni. Vhamusanda Vho-Calvin Matsila will head Matsila-Thondoni and he was named Vhamusanda Vho- Talifhani.
According to Thovhele Vho-Masia, he needs a productive leader who will be able to solve problems in an intelligent way. The village has a large population. Two leaders instead of one in a village with a large population as this one could pave the way for development, he added.
Masia appealed to the newly installed chiefs "not to become bigheaded" and warned them that he would dethrone them and install new chiefs if they were not prepared to take his instructions. He further said that no one was above him, except God, adding he had all the power to install and dethrone.
He also told the meeting to refrain from bad habits, stressing that political parties should respect the leaders. He encouraged the new chiefs to work hard and warned them against the danger of abusing their power.
