The Musina Local Football Association elected a new executive committee on 19 July, with Derrick Mothibi re-elected as chairperson. SAFA Vhembe's Ephraim Singo urged the committee to strive for success, as over R98,000 was distributed to teams for their past season's achievements.

Speaking at the Musina Local Football Association’s (MLFA) extraordinary congress to elect a new executive committee at Gebs’s Resort (Niani) on 19 July, the second deputy president of SAFA Vhembe, Mr Ephraim Singo, urged the newly elected committee to work hard and do its best to make the association a success.

“Go and do your work accordingly and make MLFA one of the best soccer leagues in the Vhembe region. We understand the pressure and challenges you will face in your demanding roles as you lead the league,” said Singo.

Singo said he was pleased to find that members of the previous committee had been re-elected, which showed that “if you work hard and serve your league with honesty, they will trust you to lead further”.

Mr Derrick Mothibi was re-elected as chairperson, Mr Tsumbudzo Nemakhavhani as vice-chairperson, Mr Jow Manenzhe as general secretary, Mr Titus Netshipale as the new treasurer, and Ms Vuledzani Gloria Ramphabana as the third deputy chairperson.

The MLFA also rewarded teams for their achievements during the past season, in which Zwigodini FC and Madavhila Kruger Port were promoted to the Castle SAFA Vhembe League.

The re-elected Mothibi said he and his committee members were ready to serve another term and aimed to make the association one of the best in the Vhembe region.

Zwigodini FC, which were crowned the Champions of Champions in MLFA Stream A, received a trophy and prize money of R6,400, while Madavhila Kruger Port received R6,200. More than R98,000 was distributed to soccer teams in Streams A, B and C.
