New director technical services for Makhado

After spending three years without a director for technical services, the Makhado Municipality officially announced the new director, Mr William Molokomme, during a media briefing last Tuesday.

After spending three years without a director for technical services, the Makhado Municipality officially announced the new director, Mr William Molokomme, during a media briefing last Tuesday.

Molokomme told the media that his goal was to serve the community and to be instrumental in better service delivery. As director of technical services, he will be responsible for roads, buildings and electricity.

Molokomme said that they had already dealt with potholes in the roads and that he had no doubt that they were facing a lot of challenges. "When I cast my eyes to the council and beyond, I have no doubt that, by working together, we will better the lives of the community and strengthen the municipality."

He emphasised the importance of a proper infrastructure plan and confirmed that the municipality will embark on a campaign to remove all illegally connected water taps andezinyoka. "We are still calling our people to come forward to the municipality and fix their problems with us."

He said that he was glad to join the Makhado Municipality and looked forward to making "a positive contribution." He is also confident in the council and that they will achieve the goal of good service together.

Molokomme worked at the Greater Letaba Municipality, as director of infrastructure development planning from 2008. Before that, he was appointed assistant director of technical services at the same municipality.

The municipal manager of the Makhado Municipality, Mr Isaac Mutshinyali, said that they were aware of all of the challenges in the past and that they supported Molokomme. "We will maintain a standard of service delivery and improve the services in Makhado and surrounding villages. We are blessed to have appointed a knowledgeable person like Mr Molokomme."
