Pile village, one of the villages in Ha-Rammbuda, has a new traditional leader. Vhamusanda Dzialwa Nepile was installed during a ceremony, called U dadzwa ha mativha, on Saturday, 27 March, at Nepile's kraal.
During the ceremony, Thovhele Ratshibvumo II Rammbuda said that a village without a traditional leader was shango la shaya thovhele ndi mulano, which means doomed. The communities will now have a new leader to whom they can report their grievances.
"From today onwards, the communities in Pile village must come to the chief's kraal for services, like obtaining the official stamp of the traditional leader when applying for identity documents or opening new bank accounts." He advised the members of Pile village to respect Vhamusanda Nepile, as he had been given the authority to rule as senior traditional leader in Ha-Rammbuda.
Thovhele Rammbuda further advised the new leader to dedicate himself to serving his communities tactfully and without nepotism; even to those who did not favour his instalment. He said that muvhango wa vhuhosi, or chieftainship disputes, had become a common occurrence in this day and age. The Ha-Rammbuda Tribal Council had received many chieftainship disputes over who should succeed the previous traditional leader in the village after his death.
Vhamusanda Nepile has succeeded his late father, Vhamusanda Donald Nepile, who passed away in 2019. Khotsimunene Shadrack Nepile acted as leader until the date of the installation of the new leader.
During the ceremony, the new leader's sister, Suzan Nepile, was named khadzi, while his younger brother, Azwidohwi Nepile, was named ndumi, who will be assisting him in his duties as traditional leader.
Nepile was ordered to sign and pledge that he was ready to serve his community to the best of his abilities and to seek God's wisdom to rule fairly.
On behalf of the Ha-Rammbuda Traditional Council, Vhamusanda Pharamela Lambani welcomed Nepile as the village's new traditional leader. Nepile is to attend the imbizo, which is normally held in the Thovhele's kraal in Dzimauli, Ha-Rammbuda village, where developmental and chieftain issues are discussed.
"We wish you the best in your tenure as traditional leader of the Pile village and advise you to be on the forefront in developing your village during community initiative projects, such as the delivery of clean water and maintaining roads," said Lambani.
