Residents in Louis Trichardt are warned of looming water shortages.
The Vhembe District Municipality said on Friday that the electrical cables were stolen from one of the Albasini's pump stations during the previous night. "This will result in shortage of water in Louis Trichardt township and Tshikota," said a municipal spokesperson Mr Moses Shibambu.
"We request residents to be patient as the Vhembe Technical Services are attending to the challenge," Shibambu added.
He said that the normal supply of water will resume immediately after the municipality has resolved their challenge.
"We apologize for the inconvenience caused," said Shibambu.
In the meantime residents have been urged to use water sparingly
