Another busy weekend awaits the teams affiliated with the Motsepe Foundation Championship. Whether Black Leopards can continue their good form when they host Cape Town City at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday afternoon remains to be seen. Leopards rose to the occasion last Sunday, thrashing The Bees FC 4-1 at the Kanyamazane Stadium outside Nelspruit.

Should they fail to beat City on Saturday, Leopards will have only themselves to blame. Things are not going according to plan in the City camp, where the technical team is still struggling to find a winning combination. City parted ways with most of their quality players after being relegated from the Betway Premiership Division at the end of last season.

The team from the Mother City is fighting for survival, sitting third from the bottom of the log. City did not return to Cape Town after their league game against Baroka FC at the Global Stadium in Lebowakgomo last Sunday. Instead, the team stayed in Polokwane to prepare for their clash with Leopards on Saturday. City lost that match 3-1.

Leopards head coach Joel Masutha said they planned to "rub City's bleeding wounds with salt." He added that morale was high in the Leopards camp, following the team's 4-1 victory over The Bees. A win against City on Saturday could see Leopards climb from 13th to ninth on the log.

Goodman Chirwa and Donald Makgetlwa will be key figures in the Leopards midfield, while Mwape Musonda and Brian Nkosi are expected to cause problems for the City defence. Musonda scored Leopards' second goal in their win over The Bees last Sunday.
