The much-anticipated semi-final and final matches of the Nwali Soccer Tournament will be played this Saturday at Khubvi Benjie's Grounds.
The four teams that have secured spots in the semi-finals are FC Basel, Thohoyandou Manchester Flying Stars, SDA Ya Limpopo and Matangari Rising Stars.
The first semi-final will see Thohoyandou Manchester Flying Stars take on FC Basel. Both sides are known for their entertaining style of football. Basel earned their place in the last four with a narrow 1-0 win over Madridtas FC, while Flying Stars booked their spot after a 2-0 victory against Sambandou United Professionals.
Flying Stars will need to keep a close eye on Basel's key men, Wonder Radzilani and Menti Mabasa, who could easily turn the game in their favour.
In the second semi-final, Matangari Rising Stars face SDA Ya Limpopo. Rising Stars head into the match with confidence after their commanding 3-0 win over Berea FC in the quarter-finals.
The winners of the two semi-finals will meet in the final later in the afternoon.
The 2024 Nwali champions will walk away with R25,000, a floating trophy, gold medals, a full soccer kit and a match ball. The runners-up will receive R10,000, silver medals, a soccer kit and a ball.
Both losing semi-finalists will each receive R5,000 and a soccer ball, while the four teams eliminated in the quarter-finals will each receive a consolation prize of R1,500 and a ball.
