Six-year-old Tshinakaho Mulovhedzi of Muledane, near Thohoyandou, has made her family and province proud by winning the Miss Global Princess South Africa pageant in the mini category (4–6 years).
The finals took place from 3 to 6 April at the Dynasty Forest Hotel in Sandton.
According to her mother, Ms Mulanga Mulovhedzi, Tshinakaho took part in the fashion show on the eve of the finals, wearing designer outfits by Simply Mooi and Parsley. On the day of the event, she wore traditional minwenda as her national costume.
In addition to winning her category, she also claimed titles for Spokes Model, Public Choice, Girl Boss and Philanthropy. Her coach received the Best Coach Award.
"Tshinakaho was raised by her grandmother, Ms Phylis Mulovhedzi, in Muledane Block J until the age of three, then moved to Savannah City in Midvaal to live with us," said her mother. "From a young age, she loved dressing up and looking like a princess."
Now in Grade 1 at Savannah City Primary School, Tshinakaho began formal modelling training in September 2024 at C and C Model Academy under coach Ms Chantel Swart from Meyerton. She entered the Miss Global Princess SA pageant in December and was selected as a finalist in the mini category.
As part of her social-responsibility project, her family organised a charity drive collecting clothes, toys and shoes for those in need. "Every Friday, with her coach, we also distribute food to 50 homeless people in Meyerton. It's important that Tshinakaho learns compassion from an early age," said Mulovhedzi.
Tshinakaho has now been invited to represent South Africa at the Miss Global Princess International Pageant, to be held in France in October 2025 during Paris Fashion Week.
"We are extremely proud of her achievements. With the right financial support, we believe she can go far in the modelling world. We are appealing for contributions to help our little girl represent South Africa internationally," said her mother.
