Eighteen-year-old Judy Muravha was crowned Miss Venda Niani on Saturday during an event held at De Gebs Park in Muswodi Dipeni.

She told Limpopo Mirror that the crown came as a surprise to her. "I still don't believe that I am the winner, because the competition was tough. I'm very excited to win my first pageant. I feel so honoured and humbled," she said.

Muravha, who hails from Matshena village, said that the pageant had enabled her to realise her potential. "It has boosted my self-confidence and taught me communication and leadership skills," she added. She is currently studying mechanical engineering at Musina TVET College.

During the event, Mutondi Linda Nethononda was chosen as first princess while Vhanzhi Ramukumba became second princess and Anointing Mahafha won the Miss Public Choice title.

The founder of the pageant, Ms Sedzani Mudau, said that the pageant's aim was to motivate and inspire young women to focus and believe in themselves. "We want them to pursue their dreams, while boosting their confidence and empowering them to embrace their uniqueness," she said.

The pageant was sponsored by Arise and Shine Foundation, KDS, Rio Authentic Wear, GardenBoy, Phophie Lifestyle and Boutique, I-Model and Manngwe Foundation.
