Pastor Alpheus Mosefuwa (89) of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) was laid to rest at Gogobole Cemetery on Saturday, 25 May. He passed away at Louis Trichardt Memorial Hospital on 18 May after a prolonged illness. His burial was attended by numerous church members, guests from around the province, and community members.

Mosefuwa was the father of well-known businessman Reuben Mosefuwa, who has helped many families from the poorest communities by building them houses. Reuben addressed the mourners and said that the late Pastor Alpheus had been a pillar of strength and would be remembered as a person who had loved those around him.

"We thank God for blessing us with such a wonderful father who had been there for us throughout the years. His passing at the age of 89 clearly demonstrates that our father was an extraordinary man, protected by God for good reasons. He worked tirelessly for his family and provided for fellow community members due to his kind and generous heart. He was a wise elder who offered his wisdom and knowledge to everyone," he said.

Pastor Thomas Thovhakale of the ZCC encouraged everyone present to follow the example set by Mosefuwa. "We worked together for a long time, and I can attest that Mosefuwa was a selfless and trusted senior member of this church, who worked tirelessly for God. He was highly disciplined and spoke his mind when things were not going well in the church," he said. Thovhakale mentioned that Mosefuwa had been a member of the church for 67 years.
