After a hiatus of nearly two years, Ndivhuwo Philip Netshishivhe, a resident of Tshidimbini village, has returned to the publishing industry with his third poetry book.
Netshishivhe considers his writing skills to be a gift from God. He began writing while attending Tshidimbini Secondary School, and some of his early poems won him cash prizes in the Radio Venda poetry competition at that time.
After completing Grade 12, Netshishivhe started compiling his poems with the goal of publishing a book someday. However, he faced numerous challenges on his path to fame. Some high-profile individuals stole his poems, promising to introduce him to publishers but later claiming those works as their own. This discovery was disheartening, especially considering that some of these stolen poems were part of his first collection.
In 2018, Netshishivhe published his debut book titled "Mudzili," which consisted of 53 poems. Despite encountering setbacks, he found encouragement from individuals such as Alex Ramokhoase and Patricia Mutele, who motivated him to continue writing. Their support renewed his determination, leading him to compile more poems.
In 2021, Netshishivhe approached publishers again, and his second book, "Mbuvha," was published towards the end of that year. Recently, his third book, "Matenzhe," was published, featuring 51 poems. The book will be available in local bookstores by the end of the month.
