Popular poet and musician Muvhuso Kingdom Tshikhudo is making strides in the tough entertainment industry. Earlier this year, he released a new single, "Vhadzimu Vhashu," which is becoming very popular.

Tshikhudo grew up listening to renowned praise singers and poets such as Burning Saul Nephawe and Dzomo la Venda. He said that following the works of well-known Tshivenda authors had had a significant influence on his later life.

The 32-year-old poet from the rural Tshilapfene Tshinembeni village outside Thohoyandou has authored many poems, some of which have made him a household name in the field of poetry.

Tshikhudo is no stranger to the entertainment world. He has two previous albums, the latest being "Matudzi Matula," which was recorded in 2020. On this album, he features well-known musicians Dzomo la Venda, Fulufhelo Matshaya, and Livhuwani Nemavhola.

"The new single, 'Vhadzimu Vhashu,' is a celebration of our culture. Here, we are showcasing the skills we have in using our mother tongue, Tshivenda. We are trying to demonstrate how beautiful it is to use one's language," he said.

Tshikhudo mentioned that his journey had not always been smooth. "Just when I finished recording my second album, 'Matudzi Matula,' COVID-19 hit our shores," he said. He had already invited guests and made arrangements at a venue for the launch, but everything had to be cancelled. "This was a significant setback for an up-and-coming artist like myself. Instead of demoralising me, this became a major source of motivation and determination to succeed. I will never give up on this, even though there are obstacles along the way," Tshikhudo said.
