Makhado police are investigating a case of attempted murder following an alleged armed attack on a smallholding outside Louis Trichardt on Monday evening, 2 March.
It is alleged that at about 19:30, a 68-year-old man was confronted by two unknown suspects at a farm along the Elim Road. The suspects allegedly assaulted the victim and attempted to shoot him, but the firearm reportedly malfunctioned.
The victim sustained injuries during the incident, while his wife was treated for shock.
The suspects fled the scene without taking any property and have not yet been identified.
