Police are offering a R100,000 reward for information on Fiona Mpfunzeni Matodzi, missing since 2022. She was last seen entering a black VW Polo without license plates. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.

Police have announced a R100,000 reward for information that could help locate Fiona Mpfunzeni Matodzi, who has been missing for nearly four years.

Fiona was last seen on 11 August 2022 in Itsani village while walking home from school. The girl, who was nine years old at the time, never arrived home.

According to police, fellow pupils walking behind her told investigators they saw Fiona getting into a black Volkswagen Polo with no registration plates. The occupants of the vehicle were not identified.

The case has remained unresolved since her disappearance. Police have now escalated efforts by offering a cash reward to generate new leads.

Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe said every possible lead is being pursued. “We urge members of the public to come forward with any information, no matter how small it may seem. Someone out there knows something, and that information could be critical in reuniting Fiona with her family and ensuring that justice is served,” she said.

Police said the investigation has so far yielded no breakthrough. Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is urged to contact Colonel Lesiba Somo of the provincial Missing Persons Unit on 082 565 8238, the Crime Stop number 08600 10111, or their nearest police station.

All information received will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
