The police in Thohoyandou are appealing to the community to help them trace a man whom they believe could help them in their investigations.

This follows two murders resulting from a fire at Tshisahulu-Siawoadza a fortnight ago, which killed a child and his mother. The man, Mboneni Khakhu of Itsani, who was the boyfriend of the deceased, is alleged to have doused the house of the late Thabelo Ramalivhana, who was together with her children, with fuel and setting it alight.

It is alleged that after the incident, the man kept calling the family, enquiring about the whereabouts of the deceased. He is said to be a very reserved person. Since the incident, the man has not been seen and is believed to be on the run. Indications are that he might be hiding somewhere on the Reef.

The woman´s son was buried last weekend and she will be buried this weekend.
