Well-known, award-winning pop star Tshanduko Maano, better known as Mazwale Muimbi, has released a sizzling single ahead of her much-anticipated album. Ndi Kho Zama Zama, which will be part of her forthcoming album Ndo Fara Mulilo, was released on 30 January.
The single is already making waves. Mazwale collaborated with seasoned musician Obbie Nkanyane and Wink Productions under Makhuwa Matsu Entertainment, who contributed to the project’s success.
A winner of the 2016 Best Tshivenda Album at the SATMA Awards and the 2017 Best Tshivenda Album at both the SATMA and TSHIMA Awards, Mazwale is confident she has struck the right chord. “I put a lot of effort in this one and it forms part of an appetising list of tracks earmarked for my forthcoming album,” she said.
Mazwale’s new album is scheduled for release towards the end of February.
Born in Lwamondo-Mapate, Mazwale began singing as a child in her primary school choir and later became the lead vocalist at her local church. Her first album, Ndinne Uno, was released in 2014. In 2019, her song Tshitoko went viral. She has since collaborated with both international and national artists, including Charma Gal, Mahempe from Botswana, Benny Mayengane, and Fortunator.
“When I started making music, I did not know it was to be my lifelong career. Here I am today, bagging awards which I never in my wildest dreams thought I would ever achieve. This gives me more courage. I think this is a sign that I am doing a good job,” Mazwale said.
