Poetry is an art form that demands for one to read voraciously and write and rewrite, so that the final product is flawless. That kind of hard work is evident in the poetry of Mosiwa Portia Nembambula, also known as Mosiwa The Poet.

Poetry is an art form that demands for one to read voraciously and write and rewrite, so that the final product is flawless. That kind of hard work is evident in the poetry of Mosiwa Portia Nembambula, also known as Mosiwa The Poet.

She made a tremendous entry into the industry with her lyrical poem entitled Ndi do nkhumbula na? Ever since then, she has written more poems that speak directly to the heart. "Becoming a poet has been my dream since when I was a child, and today I am confident to say that anything is possible if you are willing to do it," she said.

She stated that she had encountered some life-challenging problems and the only way to deal with them was through poetry. "I am able to express myself through this art form," she said.

Mosiwa The Poet, who grew up at Tshepisong West in Gauteng and currently resides at Tshithuthuni village, said that her poetry journey started way back in her childhood when she first fell in love with poetry. "Never hold yourself back from the past, because the knowledge of your flaws is beautiful, no matter what they say," she said.

She recently met up with Charles Wa Story, who helped her to put her poetic verse to musical beats for the purpose of recording her poetry accompanied with music. The result was the recording and release of A hu na muta u si na mathada (Remix), on which she featured Natural Black SA.

"For the first time, people became interested in my music," she said. "That feeling and that moment, I'll never forget for the rest of my life," she said.

A hu na muta u si na mathada has been receiving extensive airplay on different radio stations. Mosiwa The Poet is available on different social media platforms and she can be reached via 060 959 4410.
