Princesa Lumina, an artist from Musina, has her sights set on the big entertainment arenas. She plans to release her first full album in two months, but before that, she intends to tour the country and perform for crowds in various towns and cities.
The 30-year-old singer from Nancefield is aiming high and believes she has what it takes to reach the top of the musical world. In 2022, she released her debut single, Phola, but she is now ready to launch her eight-track album, New Journey.
Lumina explained that New Journey is more than just a collection of entertaining songs. It is a wake-up call for black Africans, reminding them of their roots and the struggles endured during apartheid. "We worked so hard to gain our freedom, and now it feels like we are taking some of it for granted," said Lumina, a mother of three. "Let's not lose focus."
Her first performance will be at Mustown Shis'nyama in Musina, followed by a show at Mandi's Place in Dzanani. The album will be officially launched on 28 March.
"I am ready to take South Africa by storm," she said confidently. She also plans to perform concerts in Nzhelele, Polokwane, Durban, Gauteng, and the Free State. Visiting other places is also on the cards.
Lumina is quick to express gratitude to her husband. "He provides the much-needed support in times of real need," she said.
