The 27-year-old artist Marcia Magoro, affectionately known as "Queen Marcia," believes her time to shine has arrived. In October, she released her album Monnyana, which features eight tracks and is set to appeal to fans of her tsa manyalo style music.

"I love this type of music because I enjoy dancing. I realized it's the only type of music where I can showcase my talent. This music heals broken hearts and entertains people at weddings and birthday celebrations," she explained.

She told Limpopo Mirror that she had begun singing at a young age. "I grew up with a love of singing, but I was too shy to show people that I had a talent for it," she said.

As a young girl, she would imitate other people's dances. "I watched many manyalo music videos to learn more about this style. In 2012, I started attending music festivals to get first-hand experience of how manyalo artists dance, and it inspired me a lot," she said.

Magoro said her latest album reflected her growth, both musically and personally. "Since its release, my phone hasn't stopped ringing. The demand for my album is so high that it has motivated me to work even harder on my next album," she said.

She added that her lyrics drew on personal experiences "and what I see happening around me. I also offer advice through my music, and by the look of things, I'll keep singing this type of music because it's proving very popular," she said.

She thanked Solly Nkhawane for coaching her and motivating her during difficult times. "I thought I would never achieve my dream of being a musician, until he recognised my talent," she said.
