The first-round fixtures of the Limpopo Stream of the Sasol Women's League ended this past weekend, but the race for the league championship is still wide open. The three teams closely contesting the league title in Stream B are Sinthumulekutama FC, Rodadau FC, and Sisters FC.
Sinthumulekutama are leading the stream with 22 points, three points ahead of Rodadau FC. Sinthumulekutama have yet to lose a league match. Their worst result was a 1-1 draw against Sisters FC at the Dynamos Grounds in Bolobedu outside Tzaneen on Sunday, 9 June. Sisters are in third place with 18 points. Just like Sinthumulekutama, Sisters have not yet lost a league match this season.
The struggle for survival is among four teams: Masakona Liberty Experience, Real Mighty Girls, Tshandama Young Stars, and Merwe United Ladies FC. Merwe are languishing at the bottom of the log with three points, while Young Stars and Mighty Ladies are tied on five points each. Liberty Experience have managed to deposit six points into their league account to date.
Ramatlaohle Ladies are shining at the top of Stream A with 21 points. University of Limpopo Ladies are close behind in second position with 18 points, while Marumo Gallants are in third place after collecting 16 points in their first-round campaign.
Following the conclusion of their first-round league programme over the past weekend, the teams have been given a break of two weeks. The teams will resume their second-round league programme over the next weekend, 6 and 7 July. Sinthumulekutama will start with a home match against Tshandama Young Stars at the Sinthumule High School Grounds on Saturday, 6 July.
