The quarterfinal matches for the Khubvi Soccer Tournament will be played at the Khubvi Benjies grounds this weekend. Three matches will be played tomorrow,, while the last one will be staged on Sunday afternoon.

Begwa United FC will entertain Makonde FC in their opening match at 11:00. Begwa's way to the quarters went via Thenzheni Liverpool, whom they convincingly beat 4-2 last Saturday. Makonde's road to the quarters were rocky and thorny. They beat Mutale Vikings 5-4 in their opening match last weekend. The winner was determined through penalty shootout after a 2-2 full-time draw.

It remains to be seen whether Makonde will make Begwa pay for the 5-6 defeat they suffered at the hands of Shadani Dangerous Scorpions in the final of the MTG Soccer Challenge at the Makonde grounds two weeks ago. Musasenda Big V will have a date with Phandulaluvalo FC in what promises to be a thriller.

Musasenda Big V and Phandulaluvalo's ways to the quarterfinal were tough. They both won their opening matches by a narrow 1-0 margin. Phandulaluvalo beat Mulodi Freedom Fighters and Musasenda were marginally stronger than Muhuyu Copper Stars. Tomorrow's programme will be wrapped up by the match between Lukau Hot Aces and The Dolphins FC at 15:00.

The only match that will be played on Sunday will be between Ficus FC and Rambuda Young Fighters. The players to watch in the quarterfinal matches are: Lesly Magwabeni and Advice Munyai, both of Makonde FC, and Pfarelo Netshikweta and Lucas Sithole, both of Dolphins. The champions will walk away with a cash prize of R5 000.

The final will be staged at the same venue next Sunday, 24 July.
