The more than R10 million state-of-the art Rammbuda Traditional Council offices at Dzimauli village in the Mutale area were officially opened by the MEC for Co-Operative Governance, Housing and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA), Mr Basikopo Makamu, and the MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Ms Monica Mochadi, a fortnight ago.
The offices will deliver and render services such as tribal court, police services, post office, health, and agriculture, among others, and communities will access services under one roof.
Speaking when handing over the offices, MEC Mochadi said traditional leaders in the province deserved better and the government needed to give them the dignity they deserved as they were the leaders of the people.
"We have built the offices on behalf of CoGHSTA as we have been given responsibilities to be an infrastructure-implementing department. We are glad to have delivered these offices, especially knowing that they are quite critical for services rendered by the senior traditional leaders to the community at large," she added.
MEC Basikopo Makamu said the government took care of its traditional leaders and communities, so that they could access services right on their doorstep.
One of the community members who attended the official handing over, Ms Mashudu Nebaimoro, said that life would change for the better for the communities in Ha-Rammbuda as the old and dilapidated offices could not accommodate the growing communities in terms of much-needed service delivery.
