Ramzeey unveils ‘Tongue Letter’ — a deeply personal musical statement

Limpopo's rising Afro-pop and soul sensation Ramzeey has officially released his latest studio album, Tongue Letter — a powerful collection exploring love, identity, reflection and growth.

Speaking in an interview, Ramzeey explained that the album's title reflects how he uses music and language to convey personal and social messages. "It is a letter spoken through the tongue. I use music to deliver messages of love, life and unity. It expresses the depth of what language carries, even when it is not always visible," he said.

The inspiration for the album came as the artist reflected on the impact his music has had across communities over the years. He realised that language shapes understanding and healing. "There is weight in what we say, even if we do not always see it. That is why I chose the name Tongue Letter — it holds messages that heal and empower."

While maintaining his lifelong passion for music, Ramzeey approached this album with fresh intention. "Music is part of my daily life, but this time I was intentional. I paid attention to what is happening around us and allowed the music to speak on those stories. I wanted to present them as a letter — a message I could sing," he said.

He describes the album's sound as joyful and emotionally rich, rooted in Afro-pop and soul, with songs inspired by real-life events and emotions. It features collaborations with Mizo Phyll, Crazy Frazer, Jr Player, Blessa and guitarist General. Ramzeey said working with these artists added "texture and life" to the project.

One song, in particular, stands out for its unexpected take on love. "I know most of my fans love me for romantic songs, but there is one that speaks about love in a way that is surprising and unfamiliar. I believe it will leave people thinking," he said.

Ramzeey believes Tongue Letter marks his growth as an artist. "People used to know me as someone still on the rise, but now I am leading, creating with intention. There is growth in how I write, arrange and perform. You can hear that this album was prepared with care and vision."

Discussing his creative process, he said he starts with the beat, then lets the melody guide the lyrics. "If the melody sounds sad, I write sad lyrics. It flows naturally," he explained. Despite industry pressures, he remains focused on authenticity. "Some of my biggest songs were never made with the intention of becoming hits. I just aim to create something real."

Tongue Letter is also a tribute to his supporters and a reflection of his musical journey. "I wanted this album to be a thank-you message to everyone who has supported me. I wanted to inspire and connect through the music."

Ramzeey confirmed that live performances, music videos and tours are on the way. "There is a lot coming, and it will unfold in stages," he said.

The album, he added, has been a catalyst for personal and professional growth. "I have grown so much in songwriting, production and vocals. I also built strong relationships with other talented artists during this journey."

He hopes listeners walk away with messages of love, faith, family and humanity. "Those are the values at the heart of this album, and I hope people feel that with every song," he concluded.
