Ravele Highlanders were too strong for their rivals, Ravele Black Dragons, and beat them 2-0 in their Makhado LFA match at Ravele on Saturday. On Sunday, Highlanders hammered Tshiozwi Mates 6-1.
Dragons played entertaining football from behind throughout the game, but their strikers fumbled regularly at the goal finish. It took the hosts 10 minutes to realize that it was not their day. Their front runner, Bone Ramovha, could not live up to his reputation as a natural striker. He was tightly marked by Lucky Buasi.
Nyandano Rathumbu opened the score in the 39th minute. The goal did not demoralize Dragons as they continued to play like a team, creating promising moves from the middle of the park. Highlanders increased the margin in the 59th minute. This after Dragons started to set offside-traps. Thendo Rathumbu beat the offside-trap and sent the Dragons' keeper the wrong way.
Although Highlanders effected three changes to their starting line-up late in the game, that was not good enough to stop Highlanders from displaying good football.
