Fans were filled with excitement and greeted each other in Rasta lingo as up-and-coming reggae artists, along with some seasoned ones, performed live at the Thohoyandou Indoor Sports Centre on Friday, 16 June.

The one-day music festival began with music lessons, providing attendees with the opportunity to learn how to play different musical instruments. The Munzhelele Jah Band, consisting of talented guitarists capable of supporting any reggae artist in the country, provided backing for all the performing artists. Ras Mashau, also known as Takalani Mashau, was one of the seasoned reggae artists who delighted the crowd with his electrifying performance, getting the Rastas jumping up and down.

While the "holy herb" was not smoked inside the hall, some Rastas were seen exchanging the holy pipe outside. The atmosphere was filled with joy and a sense of euphoria.

DJ Buka Mphaphuli, one of the festival organisers, expressed gratitude for the presence of most up-and-coming reggae artists at the event. He mentioned that the festival would become an annual occasion and expressed hope that next year's event would be even better. He concluded with the words, "Jah Rastafari."
