Archbishop Asera Mufhadi (61) of the Holy Revelation Apostolic Church in Zion (HRACZ), passed away at the Louis Trichardt Memorial Hospital on 12 July after a short illness.

Mufhadi founded the HRACZ in 1997 and became archbishop in 2019, a position he filled until the day he died.

The family spokesperson and son of the church leader said that his father had applied his faith to everything that he had been involved in. "My father was a man of unusual faith. He may have departed this life, but his vision will never die. We will continue to live by the godly principles our father has taught us at home and in church. To everyone who is saddened by his passing, be assured that the bishop is in heaven and that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life," he said.

According to the Inspector of HRACZ, Moses Makhokha, Archbishop Mufhadi had done many things for his community. "During his lifetime, he built the new church, he helped the poor people and he paid tuition fees for disadvantaged learners at tertiary level. We want Mufhadi's children and pastors who served under him to continue helping the church to grow," he said.

Mufhadi will be buried at Ravele on Saturday, 23 July, with the service starting at 06:00.
