MAKHADO - Community members, educators and regional members of the South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (Sadtu), gathered at the Makhado Show Grounds last Friday, to bid farewell to two educators, Mrs Eunice Doboro and Mrs Sello Mudau, who retired as educators.

Mrs Doboro started her career in 1970 at Mmbabada Primary and in 1972 she was transferred to Tshiozwi Combined School. In 1973, she went to Gogobole Primary School where she worked until last month, when she announced her retirement. According to her colleagues, her commitment and hard work can be seen in several developments in the schools.

Mrs Mudau worked for 23 years at Madodonga Primary School, until she was transferred to Madaheni.

The function was organised by the Sinthumule/Kutama Sadtu branch. The chairperson of the Sadtu branch, Mr Bethuel Malenga, praised Doboro and Mudau for being hard workers and committed teachers. Mrs Malenga indicated that the contribution by two ladies made in the struggle for quality public education will always be remembered.

The acting mayor of the Makhado Municipality, Cllr Fulufhelo Rumani, said that the two retired educators will be missed in the family of education and young teachers must follow the footsteps of Mesdames Doboro and Mudau.
