Rinae Madzhuta's late goal against FCKK was good enough to make his team, Tshakhuma RO United, lift the Amos Charity Shield Tournament trophy at the Levubu Rugby Stadium last Saturday.
The game had all the ingredients of a cup final match from the onset to the bitter end. FC KK left out their regular players, Tshifhiwa Ndou and Itani Ngange, in their starting line-up.
United could have sealed the game in the first 20 minutes, but their strikers were unlucky. Their left-footed fast forward, Takalani "Franco" Ratshilima, missed a fortune in the 16th minute. This after he had received a neat pass from Ndivhuwo Makhado. He shot aimlessly from close range.
That did not stop United from fighting on. Dakalo Matombo committed a similar blunder in the 19th minute. He received a beautiful pass from Lavhelesani Mukomafhedzi and fumbled with the ball at the goal mouth. FCKK showed more determination after introducing Tshifhiwa Ndou and Itani Ngane earlier in the last half. Ngange formed a deadly combination with the team's veteran striker, Nathaniel Maise, at the forefront.
The goal that separated the boys from the men came in the 78th minute. Rinae Madzhuta finished off a square pass by Ronny Matodzi. KK created two obvious chances in the dying minutes. Their substitute, Itani Ngange, tried his luck from the left corner. The ball missed the target by inches. Nathaniel Maise was also unfortunate moments thereafter. He miskicked the ball within the penalty area.
