Rising disco musician Mbulaheni Pennuel Mulaudzi, popularly known as Stranger, has once again proven that passion and determination can keep the spirit of disco alive after officially launching his second album, Tshiphiri.
The 49-year-old artist, originally from Lwamondo and now based in Gauteng, hosted the colourful launch at Dama Music Productions in Tshifulanani on Saturday a fortnight ago. What started as a simple album launch quickly turned into a vibrant celebration as fans, friends and community members gathered to witness the milestone.
Although the album was released in January this year, Mulaudzi said he felt it deserved a proper celebration. “I realised the album needed an official launch so that people could truly experience the music together. The response from the fans was overwhelming and their energy was incredible,” he said.
Stranger’s musical journey has been strongly influenced by the legendary disco group Splash, founded by the late disco icon Dan Tshanda. His latest offering, Tshiphiri, is a 10-track album recorded and produced by renowned producer Nelton Dama at his studio in Tshifulanani.
Today, Stranger says he is proud to be living his dream and remains determined to keep disco music alive for future generations.
